Author: Morley, D.

Publisher: Thomson Course Technology

Abstract of the article:

This chapter gives the definition of the computer and its parts. It tells how the information is process inside the computer. And it reminds us what a computer was before.

.3 Things I learned from my Reading Assignment:

  • · Computers will do whatever the instruction with the help of the programs.
  • · Nowadays, the information processing cycle of the computers are five. And these are input, processing, output, storage and communications. Communications are added because today’s computers retrieve data from the Internet or other networks.
  • · Often the history of computers is referred to as the Generation of computers.

Implications of the new things I learned to my work/ to me as a person:

As an Information Specialist in the Secondary School, we should be aware how the computer works. And I myself should always update in terms of the latest programs that the students and teachers might used to meet their academic needs. This can be done with the help of the fifth information cycle which is communications can only be done with the help of the Internet.
